Description:
The Spanish pilot is located in the Basque Country, where the housing stock is dominated by multi-dwelling buildings: approximately 77% of nearly 900,000 dwellings fall into this category. Most of these buildings will require deep renovation by 2050.
With more than 18,000 cooperative members, GoiEner facilitates collective decision-making for home renovation through its emerging one-stop-shop service. GoiEner has already supported the design, development, and operation of more than 25 renewable energy communities, and has established processes and trained staff for facilitating collective action.
A culturally significant factor is the strong value placed on collective action in Basque society: this cooperative mindset does not always extend into private housing decisions, highlighting the need for effective collaborative decision-making processes.
Objective:
By leveraging the RenoVisor tools, GoiEner aims to increase the renovation conversion rate by reducing the time required for decision-making among homeowners. Therefore, RenoVisor will help improve the efficiency and sustainability of GoiEner’s one-stop-shop service, allowing it to support a greater number of renovation projects.
Engagement plans:
GoiEner aims to involve 6,800 households in the pilot. Participants will be engaged through GoiEner’s different communication channels and activities.
